From the Barn
If you wish to take a walk from the Barn, there is a very worthwhile walk to the village of Colkirk. Leave the barn, at the end of the driveway, turn right. After 50 meters or so, turn right onto a footpath. Follow farmland trails to the village of Colkirk (more detailed instructions in the housekeeping book). The Crown is the historic village pub. For something more gentle, walk to the end of the driveway, cross over to the Roman road. This single track road sees very little traffic. It is a peaceful countryside walk to Helhoughton or Shereford. Shereford Mill Public House & Restaurant is approximately two miles away. This is also excellent for a run.
The Norfolk costal path is a 44 mile national trail, which links Peddars Way at Holme-next-the-Sea to Cromer. An ideal solution is to find a starting point, walk one way along the costal path and take the Coasthopper bus service back to your starting point. This bus service runs between Sherringham and Hunstanton and calls at each village along the way.
